Bengaluru, Dec 16 (PTI) Alarmed by the reports of fresh COVID cases coming to light in neighbouring Kerala, the Karnataka government has decided to conduct mock drills in the hospitals to check preparedness in the event the pandemic recurs in the state.
Kerala registered 1,801 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday. Amid a surge in virus cases, state Health Minister Veena George cautioned the public about following Covid protocols.
Kerala Health Minister Veena George s statement came in the wake of over 4,000 fresh Covid-19 infections being reported in the state on Tuesday, raising the active cases till June 28 to 27,991.
The decision to limit the number of people at weddings and funerals comes after a COVID review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, a state government release said.
The decision by the Kerala government comes at a time when the state has been reporting more than 12,000 fresh infections in a daily basis over the past few months
