EMERSON - Strong’s season came to an end Thursday night as the Lady Bulldogs fell to Bradley 50-36 in the 1A 4 Regional Tournament. Strong finished the season with a 16-9 record.
What a difference a year makes. Strong’s girls didn’t make the postseason last year. This year, the Lady Bulldogs go into the regional tournament with a No. 2 seed.
One of the reasons for Strong’s 16-8 season was the play of senior Kennedi Dixon.
ROSSTON - Strong’s girls downed Dermott 49-46 on Thursday to advance to the championship game of the 1A 8 District Tournament, hosted by Nevada High School.
STRONG - Strong avenged an earlier loss on Friday, knocking off Hermitage 59-36 in a key 1A 8 matchup. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 12-6, 7-3 while the Lady Hermits fell to 10-13, 6-3.
WOODLAWN - Parkers Chapel coach Justin Welch said his Lady Trojans “gutted out” a win, 45-33 at Woodlawn on Friday. The Lady Trojans improved to 16-4 overall and 5-0 in 2A 8 play while the Lady Bears slipped to 9-10, 2-3.
