FremontCaliforniaUnited-statesNew-yorkMission-peakLivermore-valleyFresnoIranSan-leandroMinnesotaGeorgiaSyria jose. we ve got some incredible footage provided to us by san jose fire that shows us some towering flames out here. this whole thing began at about 2:00 this morning at a lumberyard on oakland road and highway 101. workers at a neighboring business called 911 when they saw the flames. when firefighters arrived they saw the flames shooting up to 40 feet in the air. this quickly went to a second alarm and tea took a defensive strategy. sometimes they call it surround and drown. they stay back and dump a bunch of water on it. it was stacks upon stacks of wooden palettes and that can grow pretty quickly. it s extremely hot. it burns very fast because it s free burning. there s a lot of oxygen and a lot of fuel. and a lot of heat gets transferred very quickly. so yeah, you re absolutely right. it burns very fast. and rapidly. so they did a really good job of maintaining it into that yard area and trying to confine it into there. the guys worked really hard to keep it from sprea
