Winits was headed toward the Brick Motor Inn, where she and her husband were staying. Witnesses told police she ran into traffic and was not in a crosswalk, authorities said. Winits, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene, Brick Sgt. Jim Kelly said. Winits was hit just before 7 p.m. on Route 70 at Olden Street, in the westbound lanes approaching the Brick Motor Inn motel, Kelly said.
