The World War II veteran speaks casually about the record donation he s made to the Yukon Hospital Foundation.
The money couldn t go to a better location than to the people who care for people, said Novak. The hospital was very good to me and very good to Mary and to Peter, his youngest son. ....

The Christmas tree at the CIBC in downtown Whitehorse was the site of a most Grinch-like snatch-and-grab sometime last week.
The tree, which was auctioned off as part of a fundraising silent auction for the Yukon Hospital Foundation over the weekend, was two gifts lighter after a minor but very Scrooge-like theft.
Someone took a small Baby Yoda figurine that was tied to the tree, along with a Christmas bear.
Lany Marshall, a spokesperson for the CIBC branch, said Friday the value of the toys was approximately $30. ....
