State official Covid-19 spokesperson, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun (pic) said a total of 146 of Kota Kinabalu’s 244 cases came from Kapayan Prison and 26 of Tawau’s 60 cases are from the district’s prisons. While 86 of Keningau’s 90 cases are from two clusters, while Agathis cluster contributed 39 of the 40 cases in Kalabakan. ADVERTISEMENT He said the new cases on Monday were contributed by cases from clusters with a total of 57.14 per cent, while prisons contributed 25.83 per cent of the new cases. ....
Published on: Monday, July 19, 2021 By: Anthea Peter Text Size: Kota Kinabalu: Sabah on Sunday recorded the highest daily number of 666 Covid-19 cases, with half of the caseload stemming from clusters at the Kapayan Prison and Tawau Prison, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun (pic). “It’s Prison Day statistics-wise, as 50.3 per cent of today’s massive caseload of 666 stems from two prisons,” he said in a statement, Sunday, adding the Kapayan Prison contributed 211 cases while the Tawau Prison contributed 145 cases. Masidi said 67.4 per cent (449 cases) were from existing clusters in localities that have already been placed under Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO). ....

Mohd Hidayat Hashim, however, pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court Judge Egusra Ali, to the charge against him on Monday. The proceedings was conducted via Zoom. ADVERTISEMENT He is accused of assaulting one Zuraini Zulkiflee Lee while robbing her of her handphone. The crime allegedly took place at 4.10am on Oct 14, 2020 at a house in Kg Sungai Labu, Labuan. ADVERTISEMENT The offence under Section 394 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 20 years, and whipping, on conviction. ....
