GUWAHATI: AATS (All Assam Tribal Sangha) secretary general Aditya Kakhlari has said that a section of businessmen from outside the State has been violating Chapter-X of the Assam Land and Revenue Regulations-1886 in collusion with a section of the administration.
This is happening despite an order has been issued in this regard by the Chief Minister s Office (CMO), he said. ....

This comes after the Gauhati High Court (HC) issued an order to the district administration regarding the matter in February this year

Guwahati: It was a very sad moment for many as craine demolished many of the small temples which were set up on footpaths and along the roadside.
The district administration conducted an eviction drive in parts of Guwahati city and demolished several small Shani temples and Hanuman Temples.
These temples or places of worship were built without proper permission from the district administration and the municipal corporation.
People who were managing these temples claimed that they were not even given any notice before the eviction drive. ....
