Chiemelie Ezeobi reports that the Nigerian Navy Special Boat Services recently collaborated with the United States Army Special Forces in a five-week joint combined exchange training geared towards a broad range of land-based skills and tactics targeted at preparing and equipping them with all the skills for today’s dynamic battle space Navy Seals are trained to be able to operate in all environments, sea, and air and land, even though they are part of the naval force. For the Nigerian Navy (NN), its navy seals are special forces known as the Special Boat Services (SBS), and they are trained to carry out the most delicate of operations. The SBS although predominantly focused on littoral and riverine operations, are not restricted to carrying out other covert operations. ....
Govt plans to start ferry services June 28, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi has said Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) is planning to start Ferry Services in the country. In a tweet on Sunday, he said that the Ministry of Maritime Affairs in collaboration the PNSC and Karachi Port Trust was working towards realising the potential of the country s blue economy by promoting business opportunities in the areas of maritime tourism, coastal development and passenger-cum-cargo ferry service in the country. He said with a large population and growing needs for regional and international connectivity, Pakistan holds immense potential for operation of ferry services from, to and within Pakistan. In this regard PNSC has invited proposals from the investors and operators who intends to run ferry services on either domestic or international routes or both. ....
