Dimapur, Oct. 1 (EMN): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) in its endeavour to fight against transportation of contraband goods in trains recovered contraband worth more than INR 1.72 crore and apprehended one person. An update from the NFR issued on Oct. 1 informed that the contraband items specifically consisted of ganja and brown sugar that were recovered from unclaimed bags during regular checks and drives at various stations and trains over NFR from Sep. 27 till the 29th. On Sep. 27, the RPF team of Guwahati conducted a drive at Guwahati Railway Station and seized an unclaimed trunk from a coach and recovered12 kgs of ganja valued about INR 1.2 lakh. The recovered bag was later handed over to OC/GRP/Guwahati for further course of action. In another incident on the same day RPF team of Kamakhya while checking at Kamakhya Railway Station recovered a backpack containing about 31 kgs of ganjaworth INR 3.19 lakh which were handed over to Narcotics Con
