LAS VEGAS A Dixie State University student and Salt Lake City native has died following a car accident in Las Vegas. Samuela Tupola, 23, a student majoring in communication studies at Dixie State University, was one of five people involved in the accident. The accident occurred around 4 a.m. Saturday morning. Tupola, along with his four cousins, was traveling northbound near the Las Vegas Speedway, back to Utah, when a white sedan traveling south in the northbound lane crashed into their vehicle, according to Nevada Highway Patrol. The accident involved at least three vehicles. NHP says a semi-truck heading north attempted to brake but ended up nicking Tupola s car. ....

Samuela Maluamaka Tupola, 23, was in a car traveling northbound early Saturday morning when it was hit by a driver going the wrong way. A northbound semi-truck then also crashed into them, According to a GoFundMe set up to help Tupola s family with medical and funeral expenses, Tupola was heading home from Vegas with four others in the vehicle. He died from his injuries the following day. The conditions of the others in the vehicle, as well as the driver and sole occupant of the wrong-way vehicle, are not known at this time. ....
