Former Kansas Soccer midfielder Rylan Childers and defender Kaela Hansen have signed contracts with clubs in Europe. Childers has signed an 18-month contract with Odense Boldklub Q in Denmark and Hansen signed a deal for the 2024 season with an option for 2025 with Kuopion Palloseura in Finland.
Kansas Soccer will take the field for the first time on Friday afternoon in its first and only exhibition match. The Jayhawks will host the South Dakota State Jackrabbits at 1 p.m. CT. Admission to Rock Chalk Park will be free for the match and fans attending the contest will receive the official team schedule poster.
Five-year Kansas defender Kaela Hansen has signed a professional contract with ŽFK Spartak Subotica and is actively playing with the squad in Serbia. Hansen is the 21st player in program history to play soccer professionally.
Kansas finishes its regular-season schedule on Thursday night at 7 p.m. CT against Iowa State at Rock Chalk Park. The Jayhawks will honor their seniors prior to the start of the game.
The Kansas women’s soccer team continues its three-game stretch of conference games on the road with Baylor on Thursday night at Betty Lou Mays Field at 7 p.m. CT. The Jayhawks are trying to earn their first conference win of the season.
