Montana Legislature made lots of late changes, without public comment


Twice during the legislative session, minority Democrats mustered enough support from Republicans across the aisle to kill GOP bills aimed at ending continuous eligibility in the state’s Medicaid expansion program.
But at the end of the Legislature the policy was enacted anyway, folded into the appropriations bill for the operations of state government.
This policy idea was thoroughly vetted . and was defeated on a bipartisan vote because it s awful policy, said Rep. Ed Stafman, a Bozeman Democrat, in the waning hours of the session.
So how did the provision — which Democrats argue could kick the working poor off health care coverage and some Republicans say is necessary to prevent abuse of the program — resurface and end up becoming law? ....

A Vision Realized on the 145th Anniversary of the Battle
The Indian Memorial at Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument in Montana was created to honor and recognize those American Indians who died to preserve their traditional way of life at the 1876 battle, as well as to provide a better understanding of the causes and consequences of what is popularly known as “Custer’s Last Stand.”
The Little Bighorn Battlefield Indian Memorial was dedicated on June 25, 2003, and rededicated on June 25, 2014, with the addition of interpretive panels representing all Native tribal combatants and scouts that participated in the June 25-26, 1876 battle. NPS.gov ....

The governor tested positive just a few days after receiving his first vaccine before the shot had time to go into effect. And the governor has advocated wearing a mask and getting the vaccine.
