HILLSDALE Monday marked a significant and historic day for the 1st Judicial Circuit Court as the first four candidates for the felony track of the Hillsdale County Treatment Court or intensive probation program were accepted into the program. 
Judge Sara S. Lisznyai, the circuit court judge and former 2B District Court judge, officially expanded the treatment court programs for those with felony convictions Monday. 
Lisznyai, who was elected circuit judge in November 2020 after the retirement of long-serving circuit court Judge Michael Smith, first launched the treatment court in the district court in the fall of 2017 to take a different approach to rehabilitation and stop the revolving door of those suffering from substance abuse issues committing crimes.  ....
