1 11th terror attacks. good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs headquarters here in new york, good to be with you. i m anne-marie green. this morning, hurricane florence is bigger and stronger as it heads toward the atlantic coast of north or south carolina sometime thursday. florence is now a monster category-four storm with sustained winds of 140 miles per hour capable of producing catastrophic damage. evacuation orders have been issued for the entire coast of south carolina and parts of north carolina and virginia. it s not just coastal communities in jeopardy. laura podesta is here in new york with more. good morning, laura. reporter: good morning, anne-marie. yes, after striking the coast, the storm could then linger over the carolinas bringing torrential flood-producing rains along with widespread power loss, possibly making this hurricane one of the most devastating for the region in years. about a million and a half people living alth in north carolina, so

middle 70s today, putting us right at normal. a perfect day to get out to enjoy on this sunday afternoon. tonight temperatures will drop into the middle 50s and we ll keep the clear skies around too. monday we ll top out near 80 degrees and we re still mostly sunny. it won t be until late monday thanks britley. thanks britley. new this morning, iowa city police shot someone near the ped mall, overnight. it happened around 2:00. police saw people running away from what looked to be a fight at the intersection of burlington and clinton streets. there, officers say they found 19-year-old demontrae poole with a handgun. police chased him through the crowded ped mall and later arrested him. police say poole may have ditched the gun before being captured. officers cleared the ped mall to look for the weapon, but couldn t find it. poole faces several weapons and drug related charges. showed up at an area hospital with a gunshot wound. he s currently being treated for non-life threat
you can see from fort collins to boulder and broomfield. we have the fog. be cautious, there s some rain on the west side of town something else to watch out for. police are securing the location hours after it all happened and we can see that outside of the house where it happened, there is both yellow that sometimes indicates what may have happened outside when talking about a death investigation. police unable to give us details they did give us time outside. we saw the crime scene unit for about 3 hours collecting evidence, going in and out of the house along with investigators we know that the denver coroner was here for some time after that and denver police were able to open up the area. we checked back in with police to see if they could give us information. that s all they can release and it s a death information and we hope to learn more later in the day. three legacy high school coaches remain in the hospital this morning after the deadly cool bus crash at dia.
