New this morning, Iowa City Police shot someone near the ped mall, overnight. It happened around 2 00. Police saw people running away from what looked to be a fight at the intersection of burlington and clinton streets. There, officers say they found 19yearold Demontrae Poole with a handgun. Police chased him through the crowded ped mall and later arrested him. Police say poole may have ditched the gun before being captured.
