I write to you not just as a citizen but as a voice of people who have been sidelined for too long by policies and practices that have systematically failed us. This letter seeks an acknowledgment by way of a state apology and a commitment to change – a change that systemically respects the inherent dignity, rights, and autonomy of disabled children, adults and their families as equal members of society.
