so remote drug agents had to be hoisted into the illegal pot farm via a helicopter. here deputies encountered three men with guns. located two firearms. we believe the suspects could be armed still. reporter: deputies called off the search for the two remaining suspects for safety reasons, after losing radio communication in the remote area. dozens of hikers and park visitors were ordered to evacuate as a, quote, extreme precautionary measure. they just told us to get out of here. reporter: the city had to bring in a vta bus to evacuate 30 kids in the city summer camp program. the children were safely taken to another park to continue their activities much to the relief of several parents. oh heck yeah. you know you don t admit it until everything is over. reporter: tonight, two men described only as latino and shirtless are on the run. but deputies say they left behind roughly $16 million in pot. and the city tells us that the alum rock park will reopen again. no
straund stranded when the water stopped flowing. obviously, a negative impact on wildlife. a negative impact on use of the river. reporter: terry austin with the guadalupe river park conservancy says he has never seen the river this dry. this is what the river looked like back in 2007. austin says cleanup efforts led to a healthy population of trout, salmon and beavers, and he s confident the wildlife will return, if the water returns. and we re looking forward to our el nino. reporter: according to the santa clara valley water district, in 2011, the river flowed at 6 cubic feet per second. today, zero. there is one upside. volunteers are able to access the river floor, and get rid of years of trash the river has collected. clean it up, perhaps take care of some of the structural things that need to be done. and so we ll be more ready when the rains come. reporter: several reservoirs supply this river, the water district says water has been released from those are
9th. an emotional first day of testimony as two teens go on trial for a murder in the east bay. they re accused of killing paramedic quinn boyer two years ago during a carjacking in the oakland hills. jodi hernandez is live at the alameda county courthouse in oakland where boyer s wife and father both spoke today. reporter: that s right. boyer s wife and father were the first people called to the witness stand. now, it was quinn boyer s job to rescue others, but on april 2nd, 2013, the roles were reversed. today his family shared their incredible loss. i feel like i ve lost a limb. i feel like i ve lost a major organ. i m never going to be the same again. and i miss him so much. every day. reporter: with her husband s wedding ring around her neck, liz boyer told an alameda county jury about the pain she suffered since her paramedic husband, quinn boyer, was shot and killed more than two years ago. the alleged triggerman, christian burton, was just 16 at the time of th
