Embarcadero near pier 14 when the unthinkable happened. We were walking three abreast, indicate and i and a friend of ours. And there was a pop and kate went down. Reporter kate was struck in the chest with a bullet. Jim immediately started performing cpr on his daughter. Witnesses jumped in to try and help. Two crews of doctors tried to save the 32yearold. They say their daughter fought to stay alive, but she didnt make it. We look at other families that things happen to and we think, oh, my gosh, theyve had one or two things go wrong, and now its us.
