from the first local station with news in high definition. this is 9 news now, the week in review. good morning to you, i m derek mcginty, welcome to this edition of 9 news now week in review. big news, that drive-by shooting on south capitol street on tuesday night. nine were shot and four died. all over a gold bracelet. one of the troubling aspects of the story is the allegation that the driver 69 van from which the shot was fired was only 14 years old. 9 news now learned he is the younger brother of the two other suspects in custody. audrey barnes spoke with several corrections officer who is familiar with the family. reporter: the 14-year-old suspected of driving the get away van tuesday night is now in protective custody here at the d.c. youth rehabilitation services center in northeast. a corrections officer here who did not want to be identified says the boy is the younger brother of suspects orlando and san quan carter and has been in and out of this facilit ....

best news on the jobs front in years. today is an encouraging day. we learned the economy actually produced a substantial mum of jobs instead of losing a substantial number of jobs. we are beginning to turn the corner. reporter: 162 thousand how new u.s. jobs in march, highest jobs creation rate in three years. after the loss of more than 8 million jobs since 07. i think that this will mark the end of the job losses. reporter: the president took credit visiting a high-tech battery parks plan that hired more workers using funds from the stimulus plan. tough measures we took, measures that were necessary even though sometimes they were unpopular, have broken the slide. reporter: more americans went out looking for jobs so that the rate of unemployment remains 9. 7%. this was a jobs fair in savannah. millions of americans are still looking and republicans charge democrats set back the recovery with their win on health care. and pushed for financial reform. f ....

these are causing substantial delays. lot of people headed towards the fredericksburg area are having a challenging commute. in addition to the train scene, an issue, due to the earlier police issue that s still affecting drivers, we also have a lot of volume around the area. 95, main line is over towards the right of your screen. that s going to be the pace, almost solid down towards dumfries and quantico. no major accidents to roar. very heavy. hov is the way to go. elsewhere around town, capital beltway, slow and steady. inner loop, delays around route 7 and will be with you at this pace. which is not too bad across the american legion. you are definitely at the well, going slower than the posted speed limit. as you continue around, look at these delays. inner loop lou bethesda, silver spring. wriggle free by connecticut. then you are going to hit the brakes once more as you approach university boulevard. a lot of volume concerns around the region and police issue ....
