>> first administration comes out with proposals and another proposal. so much uncertainty that businesses are not going to do what you and i and everyone wants them, not create jobs. >> businesses >> thank you, steve. a bare kay situation in alexandria has had a serious impact on travel in the area tonight. it all started at an apartment complex on eisenhower avenue. police say they heard shots fired inside an apartment this morning while serving an eviction notice. so far, there have been no reports of anybody injured. but the april building is near train tracks. all the trains going down those tracks were stopped for about three hours this afternoon. that included four vre trains. alexandria amtrak station was given the all-clear about an hour ago. the trains are moving again. that barricade situation is still going on. >> a woman was killed this morning when she was hit by a runaway car while walking through a dunkin' donuts parking lot in montgomery county. it happened 6:00 this morning on veirs mill road in wheaton. police are still trying to identify the victim and figure out what caused the driver of the car to lose control. aaron gilchrist has more on the story from wheaton. >> reporter: this intersection has been busy all day long. that seems normal. but we can tell you this morning it was a very different scene and there's still evidence of what police and commuters in this area say was a very wild ride. the view from above shows just how much ground this tragic accident covered. montgomery county police say that the 79-year-old man driving that black nissan jumped a curb here on veirs mill road, took out two newspaper stands and kept going into the dunkin' donuts' parking lot. >> he went flying through here, hit a lady in this spot here. went across the strip. >> reporter: mark was catching the bus this morning and saw the aftermat the police say before the car went any farther, it hit and killed a woman walking in the parking lot. >> she was innocently walking through a public parking lot when she was struck by surprise. >> reporter: at 6:00 in the morning she believes the woman was walking to the bus stop. >> all people around this aisle feel bad because we think the lady was on her way to work, probably in the morning. >> reporter: the car kept going, through the parking lot and out on to randolph road. >> the car continued back out on to randolph road, striking another vehicle. this time a ford fusion. >> reporter: nissan finally stopped after running into someone's front yard and clear across the street. none of the drivers was hurt. now police have a dead pedestrian and a mystery. >> she's an adult asian female. she did not have identification on her. so we are in the process of trying to make that identification. >> the intersection stays busy with cars, busses and pedestrians. mark riley says what happened this morning doesn't surprise him. >> there's always speaking going on around here with accidents, cars. buses. people getting hit, crossing the walk. >> reporter: montgomery county police investigate a crash scene investigation team and still looking into the crash. they will try to determine if speed, alcohol or medical conditions may have played a role in the accident that happened. police department would like to hear from any witnesses who may be able to help identify the victim. 301-840-2435. >> aaron gilchrist reporting. d.c. police are looking for a fourth suspect in the mass shooting in southeast d.c. on tuesday. nine people in all were shot. four teenagers were killed. the police have charged three people in the shootings, including a youngster named orlando carter. he was a suspect in the murder of jordan howe. earlier killing that police think was linked to the violence on tuesday night. however, carter was still on the streets. because prosecutors said that they didn't have enough evidence to issue a warrant for his arrest. virginia's bob mcdon sell now among the governors across the country that have gotten threatening letters from an anti-government group. mcdonnell's office received a letter wednesday and turned it over to the fbi and state police. the governor and his family are safe. the letters prompted an increase in security for governors across the country. the fbi says the letters demand the governors leave office within three days or risk being removed. the group guardians of free republic is believed to have sent the letters. >> shift gears to something way more pleasant. that's the weather. oh, my goodness. what else do during the good friday service at st. pete areas basilica in vatican city. the remarks were from the father that said he started thinking about the comparison between the jews and benedict when he realized the passover and easter fall on the same week. yet, he said he got a letter from a jewish friend that read, and i quote, the use of stereotypes, shifting of person am responsibility, and guilt to a collective guilt remind me of the most shameful act of anti-semitism. >> interesting comparison but i'm mott sure whether the jews will like that. because he is attacking -- resisted comments do not reflect the official position of the church. the obama administration is changing the way some airline passengers are screened when you fly into the u.s. currently travelers from 14 countries are screened automatically. and policy was put into place after the attempted bombing of the plane head prosecuting the netherlands to detroit back on christmas day. the white house says that passengers now will be selected for screening based on intelligence information. the police released pictures of the 17-year-old suspected of carrying out one of the suicide bombing attacks on moscow's subway this week. a russian newspaper published two photographs of the teenager. police say the woman was the widow of an islamic rebel killed last december. they say they are still trying to identify the second bomber. 40 people were killed in those attacks on monday. a u.s. navy ship helped rescue a vessel being attacked of pirates held off the east coast of africa. the navy says the pirates were armed with grenades and rifles and attack ad ship. the ship sent out a call for help. the navy secured the suspected pirates' boat and released them after ensuring they could not attack another vessel. the navy was involved in another confrontation just yesterday in that same area. five suspects were detained in that incident. four people were killed. three others were critically injured. explosion at an oil refinery in washington state. it happened just after mid might, this morning a refinery north of seattle. took nearly two hours to get that fire under control. practical authorities are looking into it. explosion today is the deadliest accident at a u.s. refinery since back in 2005. 15 people we killed at a plant in texas. coming up on "news4 at 6:00," we will hear why metro officials did not release information about a woman that s attacked in a metro parking lot after it happened. >> tell you about a big cat missing in loudoun county. >> that's a big cat. outside. 53 was the low this morning. we saw a high today of 77 degrees. that i'm came at around 3:00. low at 6:00 a.m. this morning. last year, on good friday, the high was 75 degrees. it is not too bad. close to it. but then saturday we had a i'm of only 60 and sunday only 56. yeah. this weekend we are not quite going to get to 80 degrees. that's my week in the forecast. the fact is if we stay between a pocket of 75 and about 79 degrees, still warmest in ten years at least. 72 right now at reagan national airport with the wind out of the south to southeast at 7 miles per hour. still pretty dry air across the area. alexandria, virginia, your wind light out of the east and southeast and pretty much calm right now. 75 degrees is the rain. dew point temperature at 48. your high today was 84 degrees. so yeah, we were talking about getting up to 80. there have been some neighborhoods across the area that have done just that today. 78 was the high in springfield, virginia. now it is 75 degrees with the wind out of the south. and from 79, still holding at 79. you folks in leesburg, virgia, win out of the southeast. there have been cooler readings today, too. right along the bay and mid and upper 60s. 72 right now in d.c. but look at raleigh, north carolina. close to 90 degrees in fact, through the clirn as, one of the warmest spots across the northeast corridor of the country. 80 in covington now. 76 in detroit. and even chicago has been plenty -- on really for this time of year. so while we are running about 15 degrees above average, these locations north still, which i economy, detroit, buffalo, running as much as 30 degrees above their average. and you can see the clear skies from new york and most of new york, down to the south. and thanks to high pressure over us. high clouds already running east and michigan, ohio, and western tennessee and those clouds are associated with a weather front that's fast approaching. hi pressure moves out during the overnight period, the clockwise flow, wind out of the south and that will keep the temperatures up again tonight. like last night, we only dropped to the upper pourts and low 50s. it was during the overnight, the warmest start of the year. there is that lying cedar rapids. just east of kansas city, missouri. this is the location that during the overnight period a early this morning had quite a bit of wind damage. at least 30 reports from iowa, down towards oklahoma city. and even some hail reports back to the west. so a few mountn showers. i think that's about the only thing we are going to see saturday evening. few mountain showers and high clouds that will begin moving in. there is that warmth all the way down from ohio and to florida and temperatures, jackson, florida, 78. miami is currently at 78 degrees. pretty mild down there. there may be showers and storms down to the south and what we will see here. the next 48 hours, high pressure will be moving out. here saturday evening you can see those clouds and and the showers in the mountains. front comes through. during the dame sunday we may have a few clouds around, too. overall dry, dry conditions for us. this evening we drop to basketball 60 degrees by midnight. delightful. great patio dining weather. 49 to 53 is how we will start the day tomorrow. touch of summer, toasty warm. but again, like summer, without the humidity. comfortable weekend. great for blossoms and egg hunts, grass just getting tall enough. then on monday, perfect weather for baseball and stay dry with a high of 70 degrees. 80 for tuesday.
