FOUR GAMES IN GOTHAM
Both the Yankees and Mets are set to host doubleheaders in New York after their games were postponed by lousy weather Wednesday night.
The Yankees will play Toronto twice in the Bronx, and they’ll do it without 2020 big league home run leader Luke Voit, who is headed for the injured list with a right oblique strain. Voit is hitting .182 with one homer in 12 games after missing the start of the season following surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee during spring training.
NEW YORK (AP) â The game between the New York Mets and Colorado Rockies was postponed due to a forecast of rain on Wednesday night.
The game will made up as part of a doubleheader of seven-inning games Thursday starting at 12:10 pm.
Marcus Stroman (3-4, 2.75 ERA) was scheduled to start against man German Márquez (3-4, 4.82).
Stroman threw nine pitches on April 11 against the Miami Marlins before play was stopped and suspended following a wait of 2 hours, 10 minutes. During that delay. Stroman criticized the Mets on Twitter for starting the game.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms were in the forecast and no fans were admitted into Citi Field though fans lined up at the gates two hours before the scheduled 7:10 p.m. start.
