ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHE) The City of Rochester opened the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Ice Rink on Saturday for the winter season but with some COVID-19 restrictions.
These restrictions are the same ones that were in place for the city s new skate park that
closed not long after reopening. However, organizers are confident they have a better setup with more supervision at the MLK park ice rink to make sure everyone s following the rules. The big thing, difference here is that we have a building, we have staff that are inside this building. You know, it s more confined and enclosed so we can monitor that. So that s what we re doing here and I know that s what they tried to do there but the problem is they don t have a building there. said John Picone, City s Manager of Athletics and Aquatics.
