The popular Little Beach boat ramp will close from Tuesday 13 July for a $2 million upgrade that will make launching boats from the ramp easier.

The project has been made possible through a $1.67 million grant from the NSW Government’s Boating Now program and additional funding from Council.
Port Stephens Mayor Ryan Palmer says the long wait for a better boat ramp is almost over.

A line of severe weather rolled through the Riverbend around mid-day and left in its wake some damage. At one point a tornado warning was issued for rotation that was first noticed over Godfrey and tracked east towards Fosterburg, Dorsey, and Bunker Hill.
Reports of damage have been hit and miss, but this should serve as a warning, according to weather experts, to always stay aware of changing weather conditions. WeatherSpotter Training Coordinator John Nell tells The Big Z the more advance warning you have when the weather turns severe, the more prepared you can be, so now is the time to either create or assess your plan when severe weather strikes.
