Rooftop restaurant proposed for Greenville's historic West End

West End could get a new rooftop restaurant and bar if  Greenville s Design Review Board approves a proposal soon. The proposal for the addition to the building at 734 S. Main St. includes adding a dining space to the second floor and a dining space and small bar to the rooftop.
The DBR’s Urban Panel gave their support of the project at their June 3 meeting but stopped short of giving full approval given issues with some of the design specifications.
The panel recommended certain specifications to the plans regarding ceiling height of a pergola, colors and materials used, and more details about access easement, as well as illumination details. ....

The pork belly was prepared for 100 meals to be donated to the Phoenix Center, an addiction, treatment and rehabilitation center, facilitated by the Anchorage s nonprofit, ReGrow SC, with funds allocated from the CARES act. One of the stipulations of the partnership was that the meals had to be sourced locally.
The recent article “many Upstate business leaders oppose $15 wage” was a hit job on workers in SC. Interviewing economic developers, investors and various chambers of commerce rather than companies already employing people is always going to yield a negative reaction to finally raising the minimum wage. ....
