His image for different causes. This Lincoln Group of d. C. Talk is about 45 minutes. Our first speaker today is paul quickly. The director of the Virginia Center of civil war studies at Virginia Tech university. He holds degrees from Lancaster University and the university of North Carolina and chapel hill. His first book, shifting ground nationalism and the American South was published in 2011 and one both a british and american historical award. He is currently working on a book on Preston Brooks which exacerbated the tensions that led to the outbreak of the war. He has distinguished himself among a Younger Generation of historians who are bringing new perspectives to the civil war. His particular contribution is to highlight the dimensions of the war and today he will talk about abraham aiken. [applause] mr.
