KAAL-TV Created: May 11, 2021 07:33 PM (ABC 6 News) With only a 60 vote difference, a $41 million referendum aimed at updating district facilities in Byron Public Schools failed Tuesday night. The unofficial results were 1,120 NO and 1,060 YES. The referendum was split into two questions with $29 million toward facilities and other safety improvements and the rest for a new high school auditorium. Byron Superintendent Dr. Joey Page said the district will continue to engage families, students, staff, and community members into their process to determine the best solution and next steps for the district. Voters also rejected Byron s bond referendum last year, 1,344-725. That referendum was worth $58 million and proposed as one question. ....
