And the story of slave ships in connecticut has never been told. I was led to the lawbooks and given access to them and time to study and explore them because there was a purpose in it. The purpose was for me to tell their story and share it. When i first came upon the lawbooks, i was then a reporter at the hartford current on special assignment to work on a book about new england slavery. And how big and important and profitable it had been.
