Because it feels good to earn it. when somebody is giving you the money i think there is a philosophy difference here in that some may find it freeing when someone gives you cash you need. but others may find it not so freeing. what if the government is handing you money but they can change how much they hand you all the time? are you free? that is a good point. the reason c.b.o. came up with this number is because this thing called job lock. people are locked into jobs they don t want but they are in those jobs because they want to provide benefits for their family. so it s a good thing that people are not beholden to job lock. the problem is right now it does seem like the government is paying people not to work, in a way. doesn t it? e-mail us about these numbers that are not very positive but impact so many americans. American workers have to get ahead. this week, congressional budget office said that the health care law will cause a decline in the number of full-time workers. democrats said it reflects new opportunities that americans didn t have in the past. as a result of the affordable care act, more americans will be able to voluntarily choose, choose to work fewer hours or not take a job because they don t depend on that job anymore for the provision of health insurance. the affordable care act does end that job lock. it allows americans to choose to spend more time with their family or pursue their dreams and that is not a bad thing, it s a good thing. republicans led by budget committee chairman paul ryan, responded by suggesting poor workers are being encouraged to work less. by providing heavily subsidized health insurance to people with very low income and then withdrawing those subsidies as income rises, the act creates ....

Does is that allows people to take that tax benefit and go into the exchanges. right. i m just making the point some people who aren t working theoretically need to be in other government programs to get other money. they get the health care benefit but they need other money. i wanted to ask what you just said is something that i think is interesting. maybe this is just semantics. you know, as a new mother i notice this. it s interesting to hear democrats like yourself talking about sort of the social value of women being able to stay home, which is a wonderful choice that everybody should have if they can, but it s something especially with this whole war on women thing, it s a social value thing i would expect to hear from the other side of the aisle. we would love to have them join us. in fact, i m glad you raised that because when senator mccain offered a similar a health care plan that also had tax credits that the individual could take with them to purchase health insurance ....
