area including here in laurel. the city of laurel, crews knee deep in flood water trying to clear trains in a commuter parking lot notorious for flooding while unsuspecting car owners are at work in downtown washington. these photos tweeted show how bad it got, a half dozen cars towed in an attempt to save them. elsewhere, a rescue on beach drive in kensington near connecticut avenue after rock creek jumped its banks. rescuers were here quickly hoping they could get to the disabled sedan with three people inside before the water at this notorious spot for flash flooding got higher. one lost her shoes in a scramble to get out of the car. she played back the incident on the way to a waiting ambulance. it was very scary sitting in the car watching the water getting higher, grass disappearing and the water coming. i was thinking about getting out and sitting on top of the car. i am so glad they came. you guys were here in under a minute. reporter: after rescue the water came
