FREMONT - A Fremont artist has gone gold for writing songs for popular artist Blackbear. Eric Conley, whose stage name is Snoozegod, received a Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified gold plaque for helping write songs such as Missing the Old You, STFU and Mansionz for Blackbear’s 2017 album Digital Druglord. RIAA awards Gold Records for albums that sell at least 500,000 copies. Conley met Blackbear, also known as Matthew Tyler Musto, while on tour with Travis Mills in 2012. Conley had been attending the Art Institute of Pittsburgh but dropped out to go on tour with Mills. Conley said that when he told his parents he was going on tour, they seemed unsure of the process but were supportive of his decision regardless. ....

FREMONT - After nearly a year of COVID-19 forcing modifications to all that goes into creating the perfect party, local party and entertainment businesses are excited to provide their services for larger gatherings with fewer restrictions. At the start of the pandemic, businesses such as Tim and Tony Karaoke were out of work for months. According to Tony Robles, co-owner of Tim and Tony Karaoke, his last gig was the Friday before St. Patrick’s Day last year. He did not resume work until September. “Music has been my life; I ve been doing music since I was 13 years old. So when that was taken from me, it was like losing part of my life, because I ve done it for so long,” Robles said. “And then not being able to do it, it was like, ‘What do you do with your time?’ But of course we were restricted, so there wasn t a lot of stuff we could do.” ....
