Holyoke man, 25, arrested on murder charges 1 year and 1 day after the homicide of Raequese Wright

HOLYOKE – Police arrested a 25-year-old man on a murder charge one year and one day after he allegedly shot a Springfield man to death in the downtown area.
Jose Gonzalez-Diaz, 25, of Holyoke, was arrested on Tuesday on a warrant charging him with the murder of Raequese Wright, said James Leydon, spokesman for Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni.
Wright was killed on Jan. 11, 2020 near 133 Sargeant St. A Holyoke police officer heard multiple gunshots while on patrol in the area and quickly responded to find Wright suffering from gunshot wounds. He began first aid and Wright was brought to Holyoke Medical Center where he died, Leydon said. ....
