David you have been described as a leader in ensuring access to high achieving low income students for colleges. Take us back to baltimore, maryland. What in the small, young boy of Dan Porterfield led him to that decision . Dan i grew up in Baltimore City in a couple different neighborhoods. One of the neighborhoods, it was my parents, me and my sister, we were pretty much the only white family. And then after my parents divorced, we moved about a mile away, very similar neighborhood. There, there was only white families. And that neighborhood felt like a fine neighborhood. I didnt know it at the time, but it was segregated. Eventually integration came to that neighborhood. And were taking the Lessons Learned from the progress on veteran homelessness to help drive greater progress on ending all homelessness. Particularly those of us at usich who work out in the communities with all of you. So, for those of you who dont know usich or me very well, for that matter, let me just explain. The u. S. Inner Agency Council on homelessness is made up of 19 federal agencies that are committed to and are relentlessly working towards the goals of opening doors. Agencies like the department of Veterans Affairs and the department of labor along with hud, hhs and the department of education. Our shared goals to end homelessness among veterans, among families, among youth, and among those experiencing chronic homelessness and among all americans. I have 17 colleagues at usich. Were a small but mighty federal agency. So, some of my collea

You mentioned Elizabeth Warren and it would be a onetwo punch, very effective onetwo punch. My sense is that the secretary will have an opportunity to make a selection based on what she thinks is best.
