Instead of improving the credit and placing it within reach for working families, republicans would do the opposite under their proposal. While the credit would be expanded to 1,600, the restrictive eligibility requirements that prevent lowincome families from claiming the credit would still remain in place and the new quote unquote, Family Flexibility credit created under this bill would expire after only five years.
