one little cluster of thunderstorms go to the northern side of town about an hour ago. those are headed to the chesapeake bay. we ll be left with a fairly dry start this morning. but, yes, lots of humidity out there. as a result, our thunderstorm chances are going to be sort of hanging around for much of the weekend. but as you can see here, it s a beautiful way to get the weekend started out there. the sun is up. the sun came up at 5:42 this morning. temperatures are pleasant enough and most of the suburbs are in the mid 60s, 71 downtown. 73 in annapolis. 64 in the panhandle of west virginia. today and tomorrow will be good beach days. slight chance down with the shower. water temperature, 71 degrees. a little something for everybody. relatively good weather in the gulf. a lot of people i know going out there for that. keep your rain gear close at hand. you never know when one of the showers going to cook up. appreciate it. right now, united airlines passengers a ....

slight chances for rain at the beaches. a little better chance for the rain showers around here. so keep that in mind as you head outside. temperatures near 90 again this afternoon. we will have the thunderstorms to cop tend with. but there will be pulse thunderstorms, they won t last a long time. they should not be in the severe category. again, lightning and thunder means you ll need to get off of the golf courses and in the pools and things like that. tomorrow, plenty of dry hours follows by a thunderstorm chance. this weather is messing with a lot of people s plans. no doom and gloom, but not going to skip through the tulips today. the tulip season is over. right now, things are slowly returning to normal for united airlines passengers, thousands of whom were stranded at airports nationwide thanks to a computer glitch. a spokesman said shortly after 8:00, the airline experienced a computer outage across the country impacting flight departures, reservations, ....

little bit of sunshine. i couldn t do it. it was too pretty. i said, life is too short to miss days like this. that s true, but we get another day just like it today. if you didn t get a chance to enjoy the sun and the outdoors, don t worry. today is going to be a similar day, not identity cam. a little more humidity, a little more moisture in the atmosphere. temperatures in upper 50s to the 60 degree mark. 60 degrees downtown. 60 andrews air force base. mid-60s along the bay. into the mid-50s now upper montgomery county out towards the panhandle of west virginia. a look at the satellite picture. not too much coming our way. there are a few showers in western, west virginia, and they may be able to get out of the mountains and into the washington area by late this afternoon or early this evening. the vast majority of us will have a mostly dry day. there will be an opportunity for showers to bubble up late in the afternoon to evening hours. if you hear a rumble of th ....

haguerstown area. just to the north of martinsburg into west virginia. more rain down to the south. look just to the south of fredericksburg into spotsylvania county. i spect more storms to develop and move over areas that have already seen heavy rain. that s why we have a flash flood watch until 2:00 a.m. for the entire area. but notice the areas in the red. culpeper, manassas, including fauquier. but also winchester, martinsburg and hagerstown all under flash flood warnings now. they ve seen heavy rainfall. some flash flooding going on in each of those locations. be care philadelphia you are driving out to the west. watch out for the rest of the night, too. i ll let you know what i expect for the rest of the night and tomorrow coming up. floodwaters from the mississippi river are pouring into more communities and farmland across the south. and more and more residents in the path of all that water are trying to get out of the way. jay gray is in melville, louisiana, ....
