It s been nearly 13 years since Staff Sgt. Jeremy Vrooman died in Iraq. His father, Bruce, said, You can ask any parent who has lost a child. It can feel like yesterday, or 100 years ago, at the same time.
Jeremy was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He joined the army in 1999. And it was July 15, 2008, he died from an IED blast left behind by insurgents. He was the team lead, and went in first, saving 59 others. We re fortunate, in Jeremy s case, that we know why he died, and how he died, and how many lives he saved because of his life, Bruce added. Jeremy was 28-years-old.
