At the sentencing hearing, Chief U.S. District Judge Sara Darrow found Connelly was involved in a conspiracy to knowingly distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams of “ice” methamphetamine. Connelly pleaded guilty to the charges on March 23, 2021, and has been in custody since his arrest on September 16, 2020. ....
A father and son from Galesburg have been sentenced to over a decade in federal prison, each, for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. According to a release from the U.S. Justice Department of Central Illinois, 53-year-old Gilbert D. Bicknell and 28-year-old Michael G. D. Bicknell were sentenced on July 7 by Chief U.S. District Judge Sara L. Darrow in Rock Island. Michael was sentenced to 168 months and his father, Gilbert, was sentenced to 156 months. Upon release, each will be on supervised release for five years. The government presented evidence during the sentencing hearing that both men were working together in early 2020 to procure a kilogram of met for distribution in the Galesburg area. Gilbert entered a guilty plea on August 10, 2021. Michael entered a plea of guilty to the offense on February 2, 2022. The statutory penalties for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine is 10 years to life imprisonment and a maximum life term of supervised releas ....
