The Main Line produced a fine number of outstanding swimmers this past winter. At Conestoga, senior Jake Wang, who was named the Boys Swimmer of the Meet at the PIAA 3A Swimming and Diving Championships for the second year in a row, led the Pioneer boys team to a best-ever second-place finish. The Malvern Prep swimming team, under the direction of first-year coach Paul Edwards, closed its 2023-24 season on a high note, winning a medal and posting an All-American consideration time in the final event of the meet at the Eastern Interscholastic Swimming & Diving Championships at Franklin & Marshall College Saturday.
It’s been another memorable season for both the Conestoga High School boys and girls swimming teams this winter. The Pioneer girls team, the defending PIAA District 1 3A champions, went undefeated in Central League meets then swept to a first place finish in the Central League Meet last weekend, capturing their ninth consecutive Central League title.
