In North Hardin High Schoolâs library, staff members waited Wednesday with anticipation for the announcement of the new school principal by the schoolâs site-based decision making council.
Jeff Maysey, North Hardin assistant principal, was promoted to be the principal of the high school, and was met with applause and cheers.
However, for Maysey, his time as a student was not easy.
Maysey is a BreckÂinÂridge County High School graduate. He said during most of his time in school, he was an âat-risk kid,â who felt school wasnât important.
However, he said with various teachers, surrogate parents and football coaches, they taught him to be more serious about education, and helped to steer him in a new direction.
