Lets begin with the markets extending this weeks losses, not a lot going right, and today, mike, a lot of it surrounds china and worries about not just growth but the debt burden as well. You wouldnt say its a new factor bits been on the list o worries. You have one of these situations where once you have this pretty sharp break in momentum to the upside, several weeks ago, some breakdowns in the longer term trend, some concerns about, you know, valuation that were always there that are being exacerbated and why has the yield become unanchored, treasury yields, and even global yields . All that stuff in the mix and then you have the related concern of, oh, what might what stress points might we see emerge out of that . All thats in the mix. I do think, also, yesterday, with the yields ma ....

Now theyre only down 11 i thought that friday was one of those days where people just said, okay, weve had a great year now, lets just sit here and sit on our hands and that was what i was thinking to start my show tonight is to just sit on my hands, and i may do it. Tom, great to have you as always thanks for the time today. Great to see you, carl. I know youve been leery of the month of august in general did this mornings early tone do anything to change that . Yes and no. I think there are some constructive things that happened today that make myself and mark, head of technical strategy, think were actually in a bottoming, possibly for the month of august. The dollar reverse,ed sharply, and yields turned down, and as you know, both would be pretty big headwinds for stocks as we got into august, its been a rough four days so far, but i think the jobs number was pretty decent and then i am kind of optimistic that were going to get a good cpi report next week. It does take us to our talk of the tape. The rising rate reality and whether were getting close to the end of the recent move. Youve got to think we need to be if stocks can get anything going from here. Dan greenhouse, liz young with us as well, and so is cnbc contributor rick. We got a big desk because we got a big story. Greg branch, is this your moment . Is your call that stocks are going to have a really rough go in the process of taking place . I think its starting to take place, scott, and i think as you know, i see another 10 downside from here. At this juncture, we still havent seen many of the catalysts happen for my thesis to play out, and that is that consensus estimates are just too high. I am higher and longer than consensus, and that means that i see no path to an 8 fourth quarter, now an 8. 3 fourth qua ....
Sidelines for some six years rising stocks, falling sentiment, and where the stocks might be heading dan greenhouse is with me. Welcome back. Thank you, sir. Its interesting we have had resilient market, stocks rising again. I feel like sentiment is slipping, deteriorating. Is yours are you still bullish . Less so . Whats the story. I feel pretty much the same we have talked the last couple weeks that the market i hate say due for a correction, because that means nothing, but it felt like the internals suggested running out of steam, and we did really, what is the difference between 5 and 7 , were splitting hairs here it feels like the market wants to stabilize at this level obviously with the fed on the horizon. I have technicians saying were going to pull lower, rbs saysle pullback may not be over. Thats sort of to my point. Yeah. The market bounced back sharply, but it feels like sentiment is offsides. We spent two, three points it felt like that, though. It does theres a feel that ....
