scanners around 4:00 we now know a.m. saturday. that person is 29-year-old ali eisa abdalla yahia. a shot was fired by that person and our officers ended up discharging their weapons and killing him. laura: gunfire rang out in the lobby of this holiday inn. urbandale police say officer anthony brooks, officer justice weaver and sgt. jeff casey seen here in an interview with kcci back in 2012 i have been a police officer in urbandale for 16 years. laura: were all involved in the shooting. but they won t say who fired the deadly shot. after the grand jury, i know a lot of stuff can come out will come out but until them unfortunately we can t disclose a lot of that. laura: kcci has learned yahia who is pictured here in a previous mug shot has a long criminal history. online records list several theft convictions owi s and robberies. authorities have had 253 interactions with yahia in polk county since 2006. urbandale police say this shooting is still under investigation
