right now we re bringing in lawrence karnow laurent, yeah guys we re defeat now of fire season kind of a scary weekend ahead we re going to see these winds. come and go several times throughout the week so the national weather service has already issued red-flag warning that begins at 11 o clock tonight in the north bay mountains you can see areas in brown these where they ve issued some watches beginning on wednesday. that s because we re likely going to see these turn red flag warnings as we get the middle of this week because we ll see some very gusty winds around the entire bay area so santa cruz mountains 25 to 35 mile an hour winds. this will be fine tuned over the next couple of days, humidity 15 to about 20% that as you make your way in the east bay also gusty winds again these are but a 1000 feet so gusting over the mountain tops 20 to 30 miles an hour. maybe some 4050 plus mile an hour gusts over diablo and you can see the humidity down to 10 to 15% smaller county
minute push. she joins us from contra costa county theresa. why we have been saying people rush here to make sure that they make that deadline as well as dropping their ballots here in contra costa county. i ve been doing elections for 25 years this is my 6th presidential election. i ve never seen. people so excited, enthusiastic and voting so early. that s the assistant registrar of voters on what they re seeing this general election here in contra costa county with today being the deadline for registration we expect to go over. 700,000 voters for the first time in our history today. we about a year ago yesterday that would be our weather account and here we are on the final day of registration. and we re we re going to hit that target, but it s very very very big this year and everybody should vote do the right thing and outside all day long this people constantly pulling up and dropping off their ballots. this mom even turned the whole operation into a civics lesson
red flag warnings as upper elevations could see winds gusting as high as 25 to 40 miles per hour with these dry winds these warm temperatures yet again and then of course just the dry conditions that we ve seen so far this winter cesar of summer season past winter season. this is where that fire danger comes into play so be mindful of that not out of the woods just yet as far as fire danger goes fairfield in concord are off to a breezy start this morning and as you look at the sky scan of the day today as far as winds go. we re going to remain windy. well through the course of your tuesday, even into your wednesday morning and thursday morning after that point as for temperatures right now we are in the 50 s with oakland at 56 degrees alameda hayward and livermore each of 58. while the north bay 40 s in petaluma and santa rosa napa and saint helene in the mid time meantime at 51 degrees right now upper 70 s in san francisco, oakland and san jose in the low to mid 80 s for you
back to the winds guys which is the changing factor here that s resulting in that uptick in fire danger because we all know it s not feeling quite as oppressively hot as it was last week. still hot enough and still dry enough though that when you add in those winds. we re back to that familiar territory which is this fire danger looking outside from see church hour. it is nice and clear all the way out to the east bay, a very thin marine layer this morning that isn t really going to be blocking out anybody s view. we have 2 rounds of advisories here the first which is in the north bay in deep red which were in the midst of right now these peach areas well these are fire weather watches that are likely to become red flag warnings later on this week ahead of what will be another round of winds later on as for the winds that we re in right now that s the north bay wind event we re talking about upper moran and sonoma counties all of lake county much of napa and solano counties.
