Under pouring rain, dozens jumped on dump trucks to get to safety. A reporter from our sister station talked to one of the youngest evacuees. Officials and the red cross are calling for additional assistance. They ask for volunteers, particularly anybody with medical training. Houstons george r. Brown Convention Center is beyond capacity. Originally planned to host 5,000 evacuees, that number was quickly exceeded but the red cross doesnt want to turn anyone away. Honestly, this is what katrina was like.
