Idaho’s unemployment fraud problem can be stopped right now
As of three months ago, 82% of unemployment claims in the state of Idaho were fraudulent.
This fraud is not coming from individual, unsophisticated fraudsters trying to make an extra buck (though they are a part of the equation). This is the result of an unprecedented, highly coordinated attack on our nation’s entitlement programs by organized foreign criminal syndicates. Looking back, years from now, the great unemployment heist of COVID-19 will go down as the largest fraud in history. Current national estimates are between $150-250 billion and this is not even close to being over.

The employer rate remains at 1%, which is the lowest rate allowed by federal conforming regulations. You can view a complete list of the 2021 unemployment insurance tax arrays for business here.
The rate is largely due to the availability of federal funds.
“Thanks to Governor Little approving a $200 million transfer of CARES Act funding to keep the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund whole, most Idaho businesses will see a decrease in their tax rate for 2021,” said Jani Revier, Idaho Department of Labor director. “This move by the governor allows Idaho to keep UI tax rates low in the coming year and will help business owners as they navigate through these difficult times.’ Idaho has paid out about $1 billion in unemployment insuran

IDAHO FALLS (Idaho Statesman) – Idaho businesses won’t have to foot the full bill for unemployment compensation paid to workers furloughed or laid off as the coronavirus gripped Idaho. The nation’s taxpayers will, eventually.
The Idaho Department of Labor said Friday that it will keep its standard unemployment-insurance tax rate on employers at the legal minimum in 2021: 1% of payroll costs. That’s despite a surge of claims for unemployment compensation that placed heavy demands on the state’s unemployment trust fund this year.
