Civic bodies in Steel City are gearing up to combat dengue this year after Jharkhand witnessed nearly 1,500 deaths and hospitals and blood banks witnessed intense platelet demands last year. The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) will form an enforcement team to run a check in colonies and residential areas to scour for stagnant water that may pose a risk. Awareness drives and monitoring apart from cleaning activities shall begin across the city.
