A bipartisan senate investigation of the january 6th capitol insurrection highlights the intelligence and personnel failures leading up to and throughout the attack. The justreleased report conducted by both the senate rules committee and the homeland security and governmental affairs committee details just how ill equipped and underprepared the capitol police force was when they were defending the building and the people inside it. According to the report, of the seven civil service civil disturbance units that were deployed, only four had the protect i have equipment they needed. Some of it was locked in a bus. From interviews included in the report, one reads, quote, an officer reported hearing an lieutenant repeat willed ask over the radio, does anybody have a plan.
