This is Al Jazeera America live from new york city. Im stephanie sy. The man who allegedly highjacked an egypt air jet is now in custody in cypress. There were 55 onboard when the plane was taken off its course from alexandria to cairo. All having released, apparently unharmed. Officials say the situation is over. The highjacker initially claimed to be wearing a suicide belted, but Authorities Say it was a fake. No explosives were found onboard. Now officials are questioning the man. The motive does not appear to be terrorism. Hours after the crisis began, the final few hostages are seen exiting the highjacked plane. One dramatically escaped through the cockpit window.
