COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 1,575 new Covid-19 cases, of which more than half were reported in the Klang Valley alone.
The Klang Valley accounted for 54.8 percent of new cases followed by Sarawak (11 percent), Johor (8.6 percent) and Penang (8.4 percent).
Notably, there were 25 new cases reported in Perlis today.
Malaysian citizens (80.9 percent) made up almost all the new cases.
Active cases: 17,074
Three new deaths were reported today, bringing the national Covid-19 death toll to 1,203.
The three victims are from Kuala Lumpur, Sabah and Selangor respectively. One victim - a foreigner - was brought to the Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in , Cheras, Kuala Lumpur only after he had died. ....

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia today recorded 1,575 new cases of Covid-19, with three deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were also 2,042 recoveries in the same period, bringing the cumulative number of those recovered to 302,662, while the total number of deaths due to the epidemic stood at 1,203.
“Of the new cases today, 1,568 involved local transmissions, comprising 1,269 Malaysians and 299 non-citizens, while the other seven are import cases,“ he said via his official Twitter account today.
Dr Noor Hisham said Selangor continued to record the highest number of daily new cases with 751, followed by Sarawak (173) and Johor (135). ....

Covid-19: Community outbreaks make up half of 10 new clusters detected

PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry has detected five Covid-19 outbreaks within communities in Sarawak and Selangor.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said they were among 10 new clusters classified by the ministry on Friday (March 12).
One of them is the Jalan Kunci Air cluster, which has cases spread throughout the Gombak and Hulu Selangor districts.
The index case of this cluster developed symptoms before testing positive for Covid-19 on March 1.
A total of 205 individuals had undergone screening under this cluster, of which 18 were confirmed as positive cases, said Dr Noor Hisham.
The Sena cluster in Sarawak has 61 positive cases which originated from the locality of Lorong Sena 1A in Lutong, Miri. ....
