Covid: 3,545 new cases, Negeri Sembilan records highest daily cases

24 Feb 2021 / 21:06 H. KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 3,545 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported today with Negeri Sembilan recording the highest with 1,392 cases. Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said following the Bahau case, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in the country stands at 291,774 while 12 more deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. He said a total of 3,544 of the total new cases were domestic infections involving 1,544 Malaysians and 2,000 foreigners while only one import case was reported involving a non-citizen. There were 3,331 recoveries today while the total number of active cases is at 30,677, he said in a statement on the development of Covid-19.

In a statement, he said seven of them were workplace clusters, while the remaining one was a community cluster, FMT reported. ADVERTISEMENT Three of the clusters were detected in Johor, two in Penang and one each in Selangor, Perak and Sabah. The cluster that reported the most infections today was the Industri Sungai Gadut cluster in Negeri Sembilan with 1,338 new cases involving local and foreign factory workers.

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 24 The number of new Covid-19 cases recorded today spiked to 3,545, increasing by more than half of yesterday’s cases, with over 1,000 new cases detected in Negri Sembilan. Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement today also revealed 12 new fatalities, bringing the death toll from the disease to 1,088. Meanwhile, 3,331 people were reported to have recovered from the disease, leaving active cases at 30,677.
