TALLAHASSEE, Florida – The Florida State baseball team (13-23) will host Virginia Tech (21-13) for a three-game series this weekend at Dick Howser Stadium. Friday night’s game will start at 8:00 p.m. with Saturday’s game slated for 3:00 p.m. and Sunday’s match-up at 11:00 p.m. Friday’s game will be streamed live on the ACC Network, with Saturday and Sunday’s game being streamed live on ACCNX. Fans in Tallahassee can listen on WFLA 100.7 FM or around the country through TuneIn or the FSU Gameday app.

After falling just short against North Florida, 15-14, in 10 innings Wednesday night, the Seminoles are back on the diamond in a pivotal ACC series.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Madelyne Anderson of the Beach Volleyball team, and football’s Jordan Travis were named as the Florida State Athletes of the Year at the 29th Annual Golden Nole Awards celebration at the Ruby Diamond Auditorium on the Florida State campus. Anderson, a redshirt junior, has led the Seminoles to a No 4 national ranking this season and was named a First Team All-American in leading Florida State to the national finals in 2022. Travis, a redshirt senior, earned Second Team All-ACC Honors in leading the Seminoles to a 10-3 record and a victory in in the Cheez-It Bowl over Oklahoma during the 2022 season. The event, which is sponsored by Florida State’s Student-Athlete Development Office, has recognized those Seminoles who excel as members of the community and who have committed themselves to taking leadership roles on and off of their playing fields and courts. RALEIGH, North Carolina – NC State scored two runs in the bottom of the 10th inning to beat Florida State, 5-4, Sunday afternoon at Doak Field in Raleigh. Cam Smith had both of FSU’s extra-base hits in the contest, including a go-ahead solo home run in the top of the 10th. Andrew Armstrong pitched four scoreless innings in the contest. He was one of eight Florida State pitchers to appear in the game. Armstrong entered with the bases loaded and one out in the third inning with FSU already trailing 2-0. Armstrong struck out both batters and proceeded to get an inning-ending strikeout in the fourth and fifth innings as well. When Armstrong did run into trouble in the seventh inning – the first two Wolfpack batters of the inning reached – Armstrong fielded a sacrifice bunt attempt and threw out lead runner at third base. RALEIGH, North Carolina – Despite another seven-inning start from Conner Whittaker, Florida State dropped the second game at NC State, 4-3, Saturday evening. Whittaker has pitched into the eighth inning in back-to-back starts, and thrown at least 5.0 innings in all three career starts. Florida State took a 3-0 lead in the second inning, with four hits, a sacrifice fly and a sacrifice bunt. Logan Whitaker did not allow a baserunner outside of the second inning, throwing eight innings with eight strikeouts. Ferrer led off the second inning with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly; Ben Barrett and Colton Vincent added RBI singles in the frame.
