TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Florida State hosts the No. 1 team in baseball this weekend when Wake Forest comes to Tallahassee for a three-game series. The Demon Deacons – ranked No. 1 for the first time in school history – are 18-5 in the ACC and 40-7 overall. The Seminoles will recognize four graduates and senior athletes – Nander De Sedas, Colton Vincent, Brandon Walker and Brennen Oxford – in a ceremony prior to Saturday’s game. ⚾️: Ross Leads Noles Past Jacksonville

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – DeAmez Ross tied a career high with three hits, including a leadoff home run and the go-ahead single in the eighth inning, to lead Florida State to a 6-4 victory Tuesday evening over Jacksonville. The Seminoles four-game winning streak is its second-longest of the season. Ross finished with a solo home run and two singles, scored three runs and had two RBI in the leadoff spot. His home run on the second pitch from Jacksonville starter Blake Barquin was his second of the season, and FSU’s third leadoff home run of the year. Ross tied the game on Cam Smith’s double in the fifth inning, and gave FSU a 5-4 lead on a two-out single in the eighth. ⚾️: Offense Powers Noles to Sweep of Mercer

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Behind seven extra-base hits – including three home runs – and 5.0 shutout innings from Andrew Armstrong, Florida State beat Mercer 13-3 in eight innings Sunday afternoon to complete the series sweep. The Seminoles never looked back after scoring five runs on five hits in the first inning, all with two outs. Every Seminole starter had a hit against Mercer, led by James Tibbs’ 3-for-3 performance with two doubles and two walks. Tibbs now leads FSU with a .341 batting average, 51 runs and 39 walks. Titan Kamaka also had three hits to match his career high, and his three RBI and three runs were a career high. TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Jackson Baumeister allowed a pair of runs in the first inning, but none over the next six as Florida State beat Mercer, 4-2, Friday evening in front of 3,873 fans at Dick Howser Stadium. Baumeister’s 7.0 innings pitched matched a career high and he evened his record to 4-4 on the season. Titan Kamaka had two RBI – a go-ahead home run and a double in the fourth inning – and Treyton Rank had three hits, a run, an RBI and a stolen base. Mercer took the early lead with a pair of runs in the opening frame before Baumeister settled in. The Jacksonville right-hander allowed just three runners over his final six innings; he struck out eight hitters to win his second straight start. TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Sophomore Conner Whittaker allowed just three hits and struck out seven over 8.0 scoreless innings as FSU clinched the series against Mercer with a 9-0 win Saturday afternoon at Dick Howser Stadium. Whittaker’s eight innings were the most for a Seminole pitcher this season. At the plate, freshmen DeAmez Ross and Cam Smith hit two-run triples, while James Tibbs hit a three-run home run, his team-high 14th. After the first two batters of the game singled against Whittaker, only three more batters reached against the right-hander: a third-inning walk, a fourth-inning single and on an error in the eighth inning.
